The merino wool has a very nice hand feel. Something that wasn't apparent to me from the website photos is that there is a grey edging to the neck and wrist (photo 1). It's mentioned in the Product Features, but you have to click to open that description and I would guess that most people don't do that. Not a deal breaker for me, but it may affect your choice. Also, this sweater is not slim fit as the photos suggest. For example, a J. Crew slim fit sweater, fits me perfectly, but this sweater is a bit loose in comparison (photo 2, grey sweater is J. Crew). As you can see, the J. Crew slim fit is narrower in the body, about an inch shorter in the body, with same length sleeves. Compared to Banana Republic quarter zip (photo 3, BR is underneath), the body is about the same in width and length, but the sleeves of the BR sweater are about an inch longer. Being short, I prefer the length of the J. Crew sweater and expected the Ash & Erie to be a bit shorter in body and sleeve length than it is.

It's rare that long sleeve shirts / sweaters will fit my arms perfectly but these do! The merino is also very soft. I've got two of the quarter zips as well. I just wish they had more colors for these sweaters. A maroon and a navy would be nice for example.
