How should an untucked shirt fit?
Here at Ash & Erie, we typically refer to button-down shirts as a shirt. However, if you’re looking for an answer for a t-shirt, henley, or polo, we suggest reading some of our fit guides for those products.
The following advice mainly applies to button-down shirts, however a lot of the principles around fit remain the same. An untucked shirt should generally fit snugly but not too tight. You want it to hug your chest while giving you a good amount of room to move your arms freely. The body length should fall somewhere around the middle of your fly. The sleeves should end up at your wrists and not stack. If you unbutton your shirt cuffs, they should still end around where your wrist meets your hand.
