How should chinos fit?
Chinos are a versatile clothing item that should fit snugly around your waist and slightly hug your legs. You don’t want a fit that’s too tight, but you don’t want one that’s too loose either. For most men, we suggest opting for a slim fit pair of chinos. The thigh area of your chinos should leave enough space for your legs to move freely. We suggest about an inch of fabric if you pinch the excess around your thigh. With a slim fit, this will stay roughly the same through the rest of your legs.
As for the length of your chinos, we recommend the bottom ending where your ankle meets your foot. Depending on your personal preference, you can have your chinos stop right where it meets your shoe, or you can have an extra inch and let it stack. This is what we consider a “break” in your pants.
